This will be my occasional blog devoted to how we can age successfully in community rather than alone.

I am an aging male over the age of 65 living in Portland Oregon. I have been involved with numerous community efforts over the years and currently am helping to build an aging-in-place community (Villages) network in Southwest Portland. The overall goal of the Villages movement, as I see it, is to create an intergenerational and interdependent community to which we all can belong and within which we may provide help to each other.

Some of my blogs will about building a village network in Southwest Portland and others will be more general about aging in community.

My hope is that this blog will spark some useful discussions and ideas about how we can age successfully in our homes and communities.
